Hello, Church Family!
By now you have probably heard that our President stated that Churches are essential and could open immediately. To those of us of faith, that was truly good news.
It was our intention to open on Father’s Day, June 21, 2020. After President Trump’s declaration, many of you have asked “Why can’t we open now?” In short, we are doing this right way: facemasks, temperatures taken as people enter the building, spacing and sensible seating—we can seat 240 in a sanctuary that seats 954, sanitization in between services, etc. Our thinking was to have people register for the 9:15 and 11:15 services. If both of these services meet maximum capacity, we will go to a third service.
Considerable preparation is required to do this the right way, making sure all—the youngest to the oldest are as safe as humanly possible. We have been working on this plan for weeks and will post further details soon.
Let me leave you with this: “The best of all is God is with us!” And the church said, “Amen!”
