In PreRunners we provide nursery care for children up to 2 years of age and we provide classes for your children who are 2 years of age through Pre-Kindergarten, during all weekend services and on Wednesday evenings. Classes are held during each event, so when you are in the sanctuary, your children are provided an experience designed just for them.
The message, shared by those called to work with children, is geared to their age and attention level.
Three basic truths foundational in everything we teach the children: God Made Me, God Loves Me, Jesus wants To Be My Forever Friend.
This weeks lesson
This week week your PreSchooler will learn that on the day of Pentecost, God sent the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit came to help us, just as Jesus promised. After you watch the Bible Story video with your child(ren), be sure to DISCUSS the questions listed below as a family and then download the “Do and Grow” documents to help apply what your children have learned. Praying you have a great time of worship and learning together as a family this week!
Worship & Bible Story:
Who did Jesus tell his disciples to wait for? (The Holy Spirit)While they waited, what appeared on their heads? (Tongues of fire)Then what happened? (They were filled with the Spirit!)What did the disciples do on Pentecost? (They spoke in different languages!)What did the crowd do? (They believed in Jesus!)What should we do? (Believe in Jesus, too!)
Do and Grow:
Powerhouse (Kindergarten through 8th Grade) is a unique approach to Sunday school for children. This ministry enables us to make each weekend experience creative and relevant with great Bible content for your kids.
Powerhouse is built around three basic truths which every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52, “…and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.” Each basic truth is amplified by a weekly concept and a monthly core virtue and memory verse.
Three basic truths taught in Powerhouse: I can trust God no matter what, I need to make the wise choice, I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
This Week’s Lesson:
This week’s lesson for Grades K – 4 will continue the series called Jesus where kids will get to know Jesus as our Savior. He’s the King of all kings who makes all things new. He’s our light when we feel lost and our empathetic healer when we are suffering. Grades 5-8 will continue to learn all about Jesus and how to trust Him more. Be sure to watch the Worship Video & Bible Story related to your child’s grade level and DISCUSS some or all of the questions below the age appropriate section. Once you have discussed the questions, download the Do and Grow documents or follow the instructions to help your child apply what that have learned. Praying you have a great time of worship and learning together as a family this week. Please let us know if your child prays and gives their heart to Christ so we can send them a New Believer’s Kit just for them!
In the Bible verse, who has King of all kings and Lord of all lords written on His robe? JesusWhat are some things that aren’t fair, aren’t right, or make people feel upset? What do you think it means when the Bible says Jesus will make all things new? Ideas: Jesus will take away everything bad and make everything good.Jesus is the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. What do you think that means? Ideas: He is most powerful, He is in control, He is strongest, etc. What bad things do you hope will be gone when Jesus brings the new heaven and new earth? What are some good things you can do to help Jesus make all things new? When something isn’t fair or right, what gives you hope inside your heart?Have you made the choice to follow Jesus? If YES, celebrate and thank God! If NO remember in the video Kat shared that to follow Jesus we need need to Admit that you have done/do wrong and ask God to forgive you, Believe that God sent Jesus to take the punishment for your sins, and Choose to spend your whole life depending on God’s power to not sin and live for Him. If you want to make this choice to follow Jesus, pray the prayer above and let us know so we can send you a Bible and a New Believer’s Kit to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus.
Please email johnkulikowski@verizon.
net to receive your child’s New Believer Kit.
What are two foods you’d never want to eat in the same bite together? When do you think it’s hardest to follow Jesus and be like Him? When do you think it’s easiest?Read Matthew 8:19-20 NLT (printed on this guide). How does this verse make you feel about Jesus’ life on earth? How does this verse make you feel about following Him?What’s the most difficult obstacle you’re facing? How can Jesus help lead you through that situation? What is one thing you can do to help you follow Jesus better? How can you add that one thing into your life this week?
Pray together with your child on what God wants them to learn from this series. Have your teen download the YouVersion Bible APP on their smart-device and do Why Follow Jesus Bible Plan this week.
