In PreRunners we provide nursery care for children up to 2 years of age and we provide classes for your children who are 2 years of age through Pre-Kindergarten, during all weekend services and on Wednesday evenings. Classes are held during each event, so when you are in the sanctuary, your children are provided an experience designed just for them.
The message, shared by those called to work with children, is geared to their age and attention level.
Three basic truths foundational in everything we teach the children: God Made Me, God Loves Me, Jesus wants To Be My Forever Friend.
This weeks lesson
This week week your PreSchooler will learn how Solomon built a house for God called a temple, and how, if we believe in Jesus, our heart’s become a temple for God! After you watch the Bible Story video with your child(ren), be sure to DISCUSS the questions listed below as a family and then download the “Do and Grow” documents to help apply what your children have learned. Praying you have a great time of worship and learning together as a family this week!
Worship & Bible Story:
What did Solomon build? (A temple)What’s a temple? (A house for God)Is a house big enough for God? (No way!)Can God live in us? (Yes!)How does that happen? (When we believe in Jesus!)Who comes to live in our hearts? (The Holy Spirit!)
Do and Grow:
Powerhouse (Kindergarten through 8th Grade) is a unique approach to Sunday school for children. This ministry enables us to make each weekend experience creative and relevant with great Bible content for your kids.
Powerhouse is built around three basic truths which every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52, “…and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.” Each basic truth is amplified by a weekly concept and a monthly core virtue and memory verse.
Three basic truths taught in Powerhouse: I can trust God no matter what, I need to make the wise choice, I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
This Week’s Lesson:
This week’s lesson for Grades K – 4 will learn how to make wise decisions. Grades 5-8 will learn about how to respect authority. Be sure to watch the Worship Video & Bible Story related to your child’s grade level and DISCUSS some or all of the questions below the age appropriate section. Once you have discussed the questions, download the Do and Grow documents or follow the instructions to help your child apply what that have learned. Praying you have a great time of worship and learning together as a family this week. Please let us know if your child prays and gives their heart to Christ so we can send them a New Believer’s Kit just for them!
Who will show us what the wise decision is when we have a choice to make? What does it mean to, “Seek his will in all you do?”When should you ask God for wisdom? When you have a decision to make, when you’re not sure what to do, when people tell you to do different things, etc.In the Bible story, Jesus made a hard decision: He chose to die on the cross. What do you think made Him choose to do that? What decisions do you think kids usually need God’s wisdom to make? What can remind you make a habit of asking God each time you need wisdom? What do you think you should ask God for wisdom about this week?Have you made the choice to follow Jesus? If YES, celebrate and thank God! If NO remember in the video Kat shared that to follow Jesus we need need to Admit that you have done/do wrong and ask God to forgive you, Believe that God sent Jesus to take the punishment for your sins, and Choose to spend your whole life depending on God’s power to not sin and live for Him. If you want to make this choice to follow Jesus, pray the prayer above and let us know so we can send you a Bible and a New Believer’s Kit to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus.
Please email johnkulikowski@verizon.
net to receive your child’s New Believer Kit.
What’s a food where you have to follow the recipe or it turns out awful?Do you value authority? What was your favorite part of the message today? What’s one thing you learned? Why do you think it can be hard to value authority sometimes? When can it feel great to have people properly enforcing their authority?Read Matthew 5:14-16 NLT. What is the whole point of being a good example by following God’s authority? Hint: It’s in the last sentence of the verse after the “so that” part!Who is someone you know who uses their authority to help keep people safe and to lead them closer to following God’s path? What do you think about that person? How do they make you feel? What do you have authority over? How do you think you can be given more trust and authority? How does respecting and following God’s authority make you feel?
Pray together with your child on what God wants them to learn from this series. Have your teen download the YouVersion Bible APP on their smart-device and do the Shiny Influence Bible Plan this week.
